We are often asked to share our core beliefs. Here are a few details that will help you understand us better, followed by some things that show what makes us unique.
We are a Southern Baptist church. As such we subscribe to the belief statement of our denomination. You may use this link to see more about that at https://www.sbts.edu/about/bfm/
At Faith Baptist Church in Nebraska City we have a unique ministry to people with special needs in our church and community. We stand firm in the conviction that these people are precious in God’s sight and that Jesus called children the most important people in the Kingdom of God. We offer support to these special needs people and their families and welcome them into our faith community. We are pro life.
We believe that the Word of God is the foundation for all truth and wisdom. Because of that conviction, we believe that the Bible is the first source to seek in all situations. This includes family, church issues, health, relationships, conflict, and all government, to name a few.
We believe in the priesthood of believers. To us that means that the ministry of the church exists to care for the well being of the people in the church congregation, but also to train the people of the congregation to care for each other and to bring the good news of the Gospel to people outside of the congregation. Every believer needs to be trained for ministry service and not to be just a consumer in a seat. We believe that God has prepared everyone for service by giving them gifts and abilities for the service of others so that with a Biblical foundation and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit they are able to produce much fruit for God’s Kingdom. Our Goal is for everyone who serves to receive the ffirmation “ Well done thou good and faithful servant!!!” that only God can give.
We believe that the development of personal worship, personal service, personal giving and generosity, personal obedience, and personal integrity are foundational to people in a healthy church. To this end God begins to work in us where we are today as we submit to Him and He builds us through His Word, personal trials, learning and experiences to where we are pleasing to Him in all these things.
